Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American and Canadian singer-songwriter. She's released over 20 albums. DiFranco categorizes her music as folk-rock and alternative. However, it has influences from punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani diFranco was the first artist to establish her own record label in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who was introduced to Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother is from Montreal as is her father, who is Italian descent. Ani diFranco was the composer and singer of the song 32 Flavors. The track was released on her album Not a Pretty Girl which came out in 1995. The soundtrack to 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a variant of this track. DiFranco apologized in 2013 after it was revealed that she would be hosting an event for three days at a Louisiana slave plantation. It was cancelled but the majority of people (including this piece) did not show any remorse. DiFranco released a new apology days afterward. Though she's most well-known for her role as Little Folksinger. Her work includes a wide range of types. The collaborators she has with her include Pete Seeger and Chuck D to Prince. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani has the name Kristen Ford. Within 14 years she began creating her own music. She played them at cafes and bars throughout her teenage years. DiFranco attended Buffalo State College after graduating at 16 from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts.
